Fruit

There’s something pretty special about growing your own fruit. Whether it’s picking sun-warmed plums straight from the tree or watching citrus slowly ripen over winter, fruit brings patience and reward together in the most satisfying way.

Around our section, fruit trees are dotted all over. We’ve planted about 20 different varieties so far, and a young citrus orchard is just starting to find its feet. We’re still learning what grows well here, what needs a little extra care, and how to deal with those inevitable challenges like wind, pests, and pruning mistakes.

This part of Rediscover is very much a work in progress. As our trees grow, so will the content. You’ll find seasonal tips, lessons learned, and simple guides for backyard fruit growers at all levels. This is where I’ll share the fruit-growing side of our homesteading journey.

If you’re planting your first tree or just curious about what works in a home orchard, I hope you’ll find something here to inspire your own growing story.
