I've harvested my first single-stem cauliflowers, picked enough strawberries for tomorrow's breakfast, and was delighted with my crop swap haul including a white alpine strawberry plant, a peach tree seedling and a pack of @tuigardenandhome Black Beauty zucchini seeds that I'm about to plant out now. Yummo! 😆🌱

Today I’m making my trusty Pear & Tomato Relish almost entirely from the freezer — frozen pears, frozen tomatoes, frozen capsicum and even frozen chilli. And this citrus sweet-and-sour cooking sauce is exactly that: no perfect fruit, no exact citrus combination, and no weighing. Just use whatever citrus is hanging around. All you need to remember is 10:7 ratio!

Drinking vinegar. I know. It doesn’t exactly scream “pour me a glass!” But bear with me, because this citrus shrub is basically cordial’s tangy, grown-up cousin. Mandarin, orange, sugar and apple cider vinegar — cold-pressed, kept in the fridge, then diluted with sparkling water, tonic… or perhaps something a little stronger. And the verdict? Bright, citrusy, zingy and surprisingly delicious. Cheers!
